WHAT A YEAR!!

2025 has been a year of recovery, growth, and renewed hope. After the challenges of the past two years, Maui Cancer Resources expanded significantly to meet the needs of our community—serving over 1,000 individuals and families through comprehensive supportive cancer care.

With this growth, we officially changed our name from Maui Cancer Wellness Retreats (est. 2017) to Maui Cancer Resources, reflecting the depth and breadth of services now available.

Expanded Clinical & Supportive Care

  • Personalized cancer support consults expanded to 2 days per week

  • Care coordination with medical providers as part of your healthcare team

  • Home visits for those unable to attend appointments or Zoom

  • Integrative Oncology consultations to manage symptoms (anxiety, depression, PTSD) and review supplements and herbal therapies

  • Personalized nutrition consults with Dr. B for treatment support, wellness, and cancer prevention

  • Joined the Maui Health System Medical Staff as part of the Palliative Care Team

Education, Empowerment & Resources

  • Cancer Journey Guide now available online, with printed copies upon request

  • Expanded into a 4-booklet series focused on questions to ask, care organization, and emotional & physical wellness

  • Guide being translated into Tongan, Samoan, Ilocano, Tagalog, and ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi with support from Papa Ola Lōkahi

Community Programs & Outreach

  • 4 Day Treats annually for education, self-care, and community connection

  • Restored 3-day Cancer Wellness Retreat, supported by grant funding (details coming soon)

  • 4 Cancer Healing Kitchen programs each year with hands-on cooking and nutrition education

  • Outreach and program sharing with Lānaʻi

  • Caregiver workshops to support those walking alongside patients

  • Expanded Survivorship Zoom groups, including specialty groups (e.g., Head & Neck cancer)

Angels on Assignment Programs

  • Cancer care bags for chemotherapy and surgery patients

  • Angel Dog Pet Therapy (Lulu & Kelly Bass) for infusion centers and home visits

  • Angel Love Link Program supporting patients through treatment milestones

  • Reiki support with Jenna Keck

  • Emergency transport & minor home repairs (Clyde & Aloha Jim)

  • Healing Hikes led by Jeannine Copp & Dr. B

  • Mindfulness-Based Workshops addressing stress and trauma

  • Financial healing & recovery workshops with Lorri Craig

  • Aromatherapy blends for nausea, stress, insomnia, fatigue, anxiety, depression, and hair loss

  • Celebration leis for infusion center graduates

Partnerships & Advocacy

  • Active partnerships with UVSC, Pacific Cancer Foundation, Imua Physical Therapy, ʻOhana Strong, Hospice Maui, Maui Health, and Maui oncology providers
